What Gets Checked in Your Tefillin
A complete tefillin inspection covers all three essential components — each reviewed with halachic precision by a Certified Sofer STaM.
Parshiot
The parchments inside each box are examined letter by letter. Levi checks for cracked letters, faded ink, broken tagin, and any issue that could affect the kashrut of your tefillin.
Batim
The black leather boxes are inspected for shape integrity, paint condition, proper squareness, and any structural damage that could compromise their halachic validity.
Straps (Retzuos)
The straps are checked for consistent blackness, cracks, fraying, and proper width. Retzuos must remain fully black and undamaged to be kosher.
